I picked up my 1992 Yamaha XJ600 in trade for a broken down 1986 Honda Helix, shes used and abused, but never fails to start up and move down the road, I dubbed her "Roxanne", because i simply hate red lights. She has roughly 57,000 miles on her, and even with how rough she is, she always turns heads, because here in Western MA, Theres very few of them riding around.
Shes a daily rider, and has taken me on 263 mile(round) trips twice, Ive recently started to run through her and rebuild her, starting with the items she needs right now, Forkseals, pads, clutch rebuild( I even did the fix for the alignment pin for the gear on the back of the clutch basket) I love this bike, and I really cant imagine not having her, March officially marked the First year of me having her.
Any tips? At 57,000 miles theres nothing alarming but im so paranoid about this bike, and contemplating a rebuild or not, at 57k I can only imagine how tired she is.
Anyway, thanks for letting me join the ranks, hopefully I can learn some stuff about these beautiful machines!!!
