Hi,

My 1994 with 4k miles did not start today, battery was soft with 11.3 volts. Jumped with a Genius battery and it fired up. Voltage fluctuating 11-12 at all rpms.

Put in a known good battery, resting at 12.5v, from another bike, too big to get seat back on so no actual test ride.

Starts right up, swings a bit on voltage and settles on 14v at idle, 13v at 5k rpm. The book says should be 14v at 5k.

New battery on the way. Home Depot (!!) sells something that looks good for $40 shipped.

Prefer not to take apart at the start of riding season. (I kept it charged and started monthly through the winter.)

What are my chances I don't need stator and RR work? I will find out in a week...when the DL650 will be finally back together.
