It looks like the second version has 60 hp whereas the earilier xj600 has 70. Why the difference and is it
possible to regain this power if there actually is a difference??
I am very happy with the power on the xj I have just worked on. It is not fully restored in that I have not
been through the carbs completely and have not checked the valves. But it runs strong for sure.
Many people comment on how the bike is sedate and boring; certainly I do not find it to be so. But down the
road perhaps I will be so used to the machine and comfortable with the power that I might wish for more.
I know many people never have enough hp and I don't think I am one of them. I would just like to know where
the 10 hp went. Usually newer models are faster, not slower.
