Carb intake boots

Rebuilt carb on 1981 XJ550RH SECA and went ahead and got new carb intake boots because the old ones were trash. Question though, the old boots had caps on the stems (air stems) but the new ones did not come with stem caps. Should I source new stem caps for the 3 not attached to the vacuum line running to petcock or leave them open? I added a picture of a new one next to the old one. The info is great and look forward to learning from you XJ veterans!
