I am buying a 1998 Seca II and will bring it home Sunday the 12th. I am old and need something to just ride and enjoy. I also am a road racer and build racers. Mostly vintage stuff and a few modern ones. I try to build 5 or 6 a year. My personal bikes are , just finished 79 Honda CBX, 82 Kawasaki GPZ550 racer, 82 Yamaha XV920R being built into a street cafe rider, FZR400/600 racer it to is in process of being built, 06 SV650 racer that I won a championship a couple years ago, 2012 CBR250R racer just got done and will be another racer for me. Soon to be a CBR305R and soon to have the XJ600 in the stable. I moved from Washington state to New Mexico to see the sky and dry out. Dry heat on old bones is great.
Started riding in the 60's on Alistate Compact, Lambretta. Started racing in 1964 on a CB160, 68 moved on to Motocross when it came to the states. Became a Factory rider for Yankee Motor in MX, moved on to be a Factory for Kawasaki MX , flat track and road racer. Got a National Number somewhere in there. Rode for Moto Villa and the Jones Brothers picked me to ride their new AmMex mx bike when the bought out Cooper. Never stopped road racing but stopped MX in the 80's. Rode Superbikes in Formula USA as well as TZ250's and on and on. Wish I had some of those bikes.
Well now I am old and still road race. We have two tracks here. Very short and tight, not like I am used to. Reason for the SV650. It has now 85hp and little over 300lbs and is fun. The 250 was built because it always has the most riders and I have to make it a 305 for next year because everybody is going to a 300 class.
So that is me in a nutshell. If any other Seca II riders in New Mexico, let me know.
