Hi everyone, I've been looking at Diversions for a while now, but since I don't even have a full licence yet, actually getting hold of one wasn't really a priority - until today. Through a strange twist of fate, I've ended up being GIVEN a 1997 XJ600S, for free, but with a slight sting in the tail - it's been sat in a garage since 2003! It was purchased by the previous owner in the late 90's, but he sadly lost interest and it's sat neglected since then. The good news is that the wheels still turn and even the brakes are still trying, which is nice! I'll be checking the engine tomorrow to confirm nothing's seized up, so fingers crossed.
I've come to motorcycles late in life, and am now unashamedly embracing my mid-life crisis (47 and counting!). I got my CBT last May and have a few hundred miles experience with my trusty YBR125, but hope to be booking the test soon. With any luck, my new acquisition will be road worthy about the same time I am!
I've read a few of the posts on here, and it's great to see such a wealth of knowledge available from experienced owners. What the Haynes manual doesn't tell me, I'm hoping to glean from these pages!
See you around everyone
