So I recently crashed my motorcycle during the crash I destroyed my start/ kill switch and the throttle tube. The bike sat for a week outside in an impound lot before I got it out. Its been sitting for another week while I was waiting for parts. Today my start button and throttle tube came in the mail, so naturally I was hyped to put it all on. So ripped it all open, put on my throttle tube and my start/kill switch, and hit the start button and then nothing. It didn't click it didn't make any sound the only thing that happened was my oil light came on and stayed on for however long I held the switch. Bike was in neutral, kick stand down/up, clutch in/ out made no difference. Tried jumping it as the battery died while attempting to start, still the same. Tried bump starting it and the engine started briefly but puttered out shortly after. The ONLY time I could get it to crank was by shorting the solenoid, when I did that it did crank but it would not start even with the petcock in prime. So naturally I pulled some plugs and checked for hydro locking, cranked it some more (off the solenoid) no fuel came out sounded like a pretty smooth ride. My plugs were DIRTY like black and brown dirty. I didn't check for spark, but tomorrow I'm going to pull the plugs again just because of the amount of time I tried to start it of prime. I am basically stumped I don't know whats wrong. My engine (atleast the outside) took rarely any damage only some scuffs on the timing cover. I'm not amazing with tall the electrical stuff (took me longer than I want to admit to find my solenoid) so I have no idea if maybe one of my safety switches is tripped and is preventing the bike from starting at all? and killing it when I try to bump start it? I'm gonna leave the battery on the tender overnight see if I cant get enough of a charge, but I'm pretty stumped as to what it could be. :ponder: :ponder:
