I have a quick question with regard to XJ600 frames.
Is there any difference in frame design/construction across the model years? I have a 1999 'N' model XJ600. A frame for a 1994 bike, with V5 (title), has come up for sale near me. I got to thinking that if it was cheap enough, rather than stripping mine to the frame and then rebuilding, I could get this frame, powdercoat it and then start moving bits across. This would be far easier for me and would also be much quicker.
Is there any compatibility issues doing this? I'm thinking headstock, engine mounts, shock mount, fairings etc?
Has anyone else done this? Is there any other issues that people can think of that I should be aware of?
If its never been done, and it goes cheap enough, I might just buy it anyway to see if it can be done. For interest, the frame is listed here.
Thanks in advance
Jim
