So tonight I implemented a new spambot countermeasure that uses a paid service to check new registrations and block those that are spambots. We shall see if it works. :ponder:

Every day, and I mean EVERY single day, I get 4 to 5 pages of spambot registrations to go thorugh and try to pick out legitimate users. That's 100 to 125 registrations per day of which 3 to 4 are legitimate new users. Here's what I see (give it a clickity click click to enlarge):
