My PO, somehow managed to snap the seat hook clean off of the tack welds. Luckily I noticed it in the middle of my vinyl seat replacement. Not sure if anyone else has seen this problem or not, but my solution is to use JB Weld to repair it.
My seat foam easily peeled off of the seat bottom, giving me access to the seat hook and plate. I sanded both the plate and the seat hook tabs with 40 grit sandpaper to give the two part epoxy something to "bite" into. I also tried to smooth out the epoxy to give as much surface area as I could.
I'll report back once I have some time on the seat to see how well it holds up.
