Newly Registered Users

I've noticed that we have many newly registered users who register, download the manual and are never heard from. I've also noticed posts in the For Sale and Items Wanted section with a post-count of 1 or 2.

So in an attempt to improve the engagement of new users, I've changed the board so that new users are automatically added to the Newly Registered Users group until their post-count is 5. I've then changed the forum permissions so that anyone in the NRU group can't post in The Classifieds and also can't see the Manuals and Publications section of The Wall. Once users get to a post-count of 5, they are moved into the Registered Users group and will have access to view/download the manuals and to post in The Classifieds.

As you all respond to new users, remember that they can't download a manual until their post count is at least 5. And Newly Registered Users: Once you exceed 5 posts, makes sure you have access to those sections listed above. If not, PM me and I'll figure out the setting issues.

Here's hoping that these small tweaks will improve site participation for new members. :ponder:
