Hello New Video Tag , Goodbye Youtube Tag

One thing I've never liked is the clunky way in which you have to edit the Youtube URL in the BBCode tag to get it to work with the board. That is, to post a YouTube video, you had to delete the "http://www.youtu.be/" part of the link to get the video's code (fvQ0VPLBWS4). I also didn't like having a Youtube and a Vimeo BBCode, separately.

Well, my friends, that is no more.

Introducing the new and improved video BBCode.



Here is how you use it: When you upload a video to YouTube or Vimeo or any other video service, copy the link to the page. It should be something like this:

or maybe like this (try it; they both work!):

https://youtu.be/fvQ0VPLBWS4

Paste the link in your post, highlight it and click the video BBCode button. That's it. You're done.

Your video should be embedded and look something like this:

[video][/video]
