I'm sure this has been answered many times before but I wanted to explain my situation and get ideas.
I finally got my bike tagged and insured so I took it for a nice ride in the country. I wanted to put it thru the paces, different speeds, handling in curves, power and acceleration etc. To start, the bike always starts very well. I rarely have to use full choke even when it's been sitting and cold for a few days. When you take of it seems a little sluggish but around the 6-7k rpm mark it hits a nice power band. I gather this is kinda typical. Rides pretty nice but needs new tires and whatnot. I did notice when I rode down the interstate at 80-85 it had no power left. Getting on the interstate was great. Power felt good but once I got to cruising speed and relaxed the throttle. It was gutless and even when the throttle was opened up it would lose speed. I rode about 3 miles and exited. The bike died at the stop sign. It started right back up and I rode the remaining 5 miles home at 60 mph just fine. Any ideas what needs attention? I'm not sure what pilots I'm running but would the bigger ones help? Or, do I need a carb rebuild? Fuel issue of some sort I'm sure. Thanks in advance!
