A couple things come to mind today. First, the Yamaha/suzuki sickle tool sucks on this bikes cam, it just keeps slipping off the bucket. So, I did pick up the Kawasaki shim tool and I'll see how that goes tomorrow. Second, when taking measurement make sure your feelers that say metric are really metricly marked! Mine said meteric and the numbers looked like any other I had seen...but indeed, they were SAE! .010" is a lot different than .010mm. The situation wasn't as bad as I thought but 2 are running with no clearance now as opposed to 6 of the 8...all are tight though. Makes me wonder if the previous owner was trying to make up for a valve caused lean condition by running 134.5 mains???

Anyway, found a video on how to use the motion pro Kawasaki tool..look at the 9:20 mark (yes, it's on a Toyota but same system as our bikes!)
