Brake Pad Question

Due to leaky forks I have brake fluid (OOPS fork oil) on my front brake calipers. I disassembled and cleaned everything. It is hard to tell if the pads are ruined, they only have 3K miles on them. To be safe, I ordered some new ones. To be cheap, I'd like to know if there is a way to tell if the old ones are no longer usable. They look fine to me, exactly like the rear pads. Does the brake pad material adsorb fluid? As always, thanks for the info. :ponder:
