Ok so I need some experience on what I might have going on with the bike. I just got the bike back on the road the other week, so I'm a little disappointed that I might have to take it off the road again.

The other day on my way home from work I noticed that it is making a ticking sound coming from the left side of the bike top of the motor. I'm thinking it needs a valve adjustment, but I'm not sure. I will say that I have a broken header bolt where that intake is too. I also just had the front fork seals replaced and put on a new chain and sprockets. Everything seemed fine, got about 100 miles on the bike since the fixes with no ticking sound. I was thinking maybe the exhaust had a leak and was creating it at first but it wouldn't be that noticeable as this ticking sound is, which sounds like mechanical one.

My other problem is I only have a carport and tearing into this and having to order the proper shims is not a suitable environment. Is this a realistic setting for doing this? I do know from my bike sitting for a while that I need to give my carbs a good cleaning but they are running pretty good with minimal issues. Thanks for the help all.
Nothing like cruising away on thy XJ at the end of the workday!
