Hi Guys,
Looking for help, a couple of weeks ago, I came out of work and my bike just wouldn't start. The bike would turn but wouldn't catch. At first I thought it was a problem with dirty fuel, as even when with the battery dead, bump starting would start for a couple of seconds and then die.
So pushed it home. Now working on the fact it needs gas, air and ignition, I removed the front fairing, petrol tank and checked air filter... looked fine, no problems. Shone a torch into the carbs and couldn't see anything wrong there, but didn't go any further.
When I put the fuel tank back on I moved the petcock and found there were three positions which I expected to be on / off and position that drains the tank through a tube that runs along the frame under the bike.
Now I don't actually have the knob to the petcock it didn't come with the bike, so cannot tell the positions other than they are 3 clicks turning clock wise. My confusion is the 2nf and 3rd position both drain the tank through the tube that runsa long the frame under the bike. To eliminate it from a list of possible reasons the bike wont start, is this normal for the Varadero 125 1992, two positions that drain the tank??
