Vstar Shock Install Question

I am going to be installing a vstar rear shock on my '92 and would like to know if there is anything special about this install. I have read the threads and have looked at the manuals and it looks pretty straightforward. Any input is welcomed. Thank you. 
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
