So, I took the Chain cover off the engine and found the pile of 0-rings a couple months ago. I remind you, this bike was bought 7 years ago in boxes in non-running condition. I've had it soaking in mineral spirits for a few days and decided this afternoon was the time the 2 layer spray paint/slime of some kind engine needed to be washed off at the car wash. I manned up and curled 2 engines, one in each hand, and headed the 500 ft up the hill to the parking lot (I sometimes exaggerate....it was only one engine but it was 500 ft up a huge hill to my handy hitch rack). Anyway, I start spraying that sprocket cover (its off the engine) and up spews this black goo. I thought, "no big deal, grease is grease...Right?" Wrong! I got home and my wife made comments about my legs, yes, they look good....NO JOEL, WHAT IS THAT BLACK GOO ON YOUR LEGS....GET YOUR GOOD LOOKIN LEGS OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!! So, long story short, whatever evil super tack chain lube that the previous owner decided worked best with an o-ring chain that didn't have o-rings. Now to the task of removing said evil goo. Solvents right? Wrong! The evil goo laughed at that silly attempt. Mean Green maybe? It laughed even harder. I yelled to the lovely Mrs, "Babe, what gets bubble gum out of kids hair?" she replied, "Peanut butter! I'll bring you some." So now I'm smelling like a PBJ sandwich with a hint of mean green, orange hand cleaner, simple green and carb cleaner...I know, I know, sounds great. The evil goo simply laughed, gulped the peanut butter and spit it out.
I'm out of ideas! I'm ready to shave these good lookin limbs and call it a night! Help!

BTW, I still need to remove it from some nicks and crannys in the cover and where the drive sprocket is...info on how to remove that would be cool too
