Happy Easter Weekend everyone,
I am at a decision point with my project. I want to replace the cylinder head because the current one installed was damaged by the bike falling over and breaking some of the cooling fins off. Although the damage is probably more cosmetic than mechanical, I would prefer to not have that engine side stand out...it would feel like a job half done if I didn't do it. Here is what I need to know:
1.) Are there any special tools that I will need to do this?
2.) If there is someone who has taken the cylinder heads off and replaced them prior? Any tips would greatly appreciated.
3.) Is this an afternoon project, day project, weekend project, week project?
4.) If I do it, will it be easier with the engine out of the frame or in it?
5.) Doing the valve clearances now would be good too?
6.) Anything else I should check?
Some of these questions probably seem silly and rudimentary, but hey, I'm learning and I appreciate all your guys' input so I'll just put it out there.
