I need to replace the dust seals on the front forks because they are dried out and cracked. I'm taking the bike to the dealer today to get new tires and I'm wondering if I should just have them pop the dust seals on too. The process doesn't look too hard in the manual but it suggests having the dealer do it if you don't have some sort of special tool. Have any of you pulled your forks apart without this bushing driver mentioned on 5-5 of the aftermarket manual? Do I even need to pull the forks apart or can I just take the fork assembly off the tree and pry out the old seal and pop the new one in? If I go that far I probably should just pull them apart and change the fork oil, I've got 17,000 miles on the bike and I'm not sure that it has ever been changed. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!
