Hi all! I'm finally to the point where I think I'm ready to paint my '97. To start- it has the red frame and black engine. I'll also be keeping the front fairing, and it'll have a black windscreen. In order to be ready for the fast approaching riding season in time, I won't be painting the frame. My fairing is sanded and ready for primer and paint, along with the tank. The rear fairings still have the PO's "professionally" done black Krylon paint job, but I'll obviously be repainting those too.
I'm thinking of painting it all a light metallic silver. I couldn't find any pictures of XJs like that, but if any exist, I'd love to see them! Thoughts or opinions on the plan? What color would you paint an XJ with a red frame? I'd do red but I'm having trouble finding a cheap metallic alternative to the stock paint.
