Okay I just purchased this 1993 Seca with a little over 5400 miles on it. It was very hard cold starting as well as a little skipping and sputtering as well as light blue smoke, so I pulled the plugs to find them black and moist with oil. I set the bike up right and let the oil settle and seen in the site window it was over filled past the top line. I drained the oil replaced with 10w-40 Val. oil and Fram filter as well as new plugs.
Now she fires first hit cold or not and is very smooth idle as well as revving, but still getting light blue smoke with droplets of oil and water from the exhaust. The blue smoke is very faint and you can't see it coming from the exhaust, but as it passes by my shop window where the sun is shinning in you can see the blue smoke floating around.
I haven't had a opportunity to ride the bike due to cold weather and assume it may clear up once it's driven a while, but I am concerned with who ever changed the oil last time and over filled it, if it may have caused damaged to the valve stems or rings???
Now the bike sat almost a year before I purchased it so again it may just need riding to clear things up. Any thoughts????
