I am in the middle of my engine teardown, and it feels a bit awkward flipping the engine over and over to get to all the bolts and what not, so I thought I'd ask your opinions about getting an engine stand for the rest of the teardown and reassembly. It looks like I can get a decent one for about $60 on amazon, and could fab some simple adapters to attach the engine by the front engine mounts (I think those should be sufficient to hold the engine).
Anyway, I am in a small single car garage and am thinking I don't want to store the thing once I'm done, and considering this may well be the only thing I use it for, It almost doesn't seem worth it. On the other hand, if this thing really does hold the engine tight, and I can flip the engine easily, that could make the rest of the job and the reassembly really nice.
Anyway, just wanted to get y'alls thoughts. for those that have used engine stands before, is the engine going to wobble alot? That would disappoint me a bit if it does.
What say you?
