Top triple tree removal

Hi guys so I'm in the process of stripping parts off my bike to clean and I was wondering if the top triple tree is easily removable for cleaning? All I have to do is remove the two bolts over by the fork posts and then in theory it slides off? I figured I will ask you guys for advice before I start removing the handlebars and stuff. Thanks in advance, I will try to post a picture soon of the part that I am trying to remove if I didn't name it correctly; I'm new to the game and am slowly trying to learn the language.
