Mystery o ring in carb

I discovered that my problem was plugged idle jets. But when I pulled my float bowl off of my outboard carb, I found a small o ring loose in the bowl. It is too small to fit on the main jet or the idle jet. The other carbs have an o ring on the main jet, but this one does not. Any ideas
