Well I just signed up for the forum and I now have an issue.
The good news: these bikes are incredibly easy to bump start. I didn't hesitate to shut it down at all because I could get it to start with just a gentle push while seated with both legs over the bike.
The bad news is I have to bump start it. It ran fine. It had one night in the rain, but started fine that morning. A few hours later, after a 30 minute break, she won't start with the starter button. Nothing, no click. A few taps on the starter and it tries to turn over a bit and then nothing. I think it's the starter. Maybe just needs a good cleaning? What do you guys think?
After bump starting I rode for a few more hours without incident.
I grabbed a starter kit off of ebay I read about in the archives, so I'll start with that. Maybe post some video of my wrenching adventures. I guess I'll bench test the starter first.
