I'm new to this forum, but I know you guys won't steer me wrong, so I thought I'd ask.....

I just picked up a 1993 Yamaha XJ600 Seca II, and it's in need of some new tires. They did, however, magically pass inspection this year, so I suppose it's not an imminent need at this time, but they're hardly in the greatest of shape right now. Currently there's a Bridgestone Battlax on the front, and some IRC tire on the back. When I got the bike there was only about 20 pounds of pressure in them, and I bumped it up to about 30-35, which at least was what I had in my 1982 GPZ550. I'm not terribly sure what these bikes are supposed to have for tire pressure (I suppose that's another question), but I'd be surprised if they were terribly different either.

I will, however, need a new set of tires at some point, possibly sooner, possibly later. It usually costs about $100 for mounting and balancing, so I need to factor that in. My last set of tires on my GPZ were a set of Kenda Challengers, and they were a good tire, and the price at about $60 or so per tire was right too. I'd like to stay under $100 per tire. Any good suggestions?
