Oil Weight

What weight oil do most of you Midwestern guys run in your bikes? I know the manual states 20W40 or 10W30. I don't intend to ride in temps lower than 40 degrees. I'm leaning toward 20W40. This will be the first oil change since I bought this bike. Thanks for the input.
