Well, took the bike out for a wee spin this afternoon, being as its sunny (well it was when I left)

Didnt go all that far, about 45 miles around Loch Goil and Loch Lomond area.

On the way back, approaching a roundabout in 5th at about 60mph I went to start changing down the gears and the clutch cable went all limp, and felt like it had snapped! Imagine my joy at having to shift down and find neutral, without a clutch, and slow down whilst not overshooting the roundabout :yikes:

Anyhoo, I obviously managed, but was fearing the worst case of having to push my bike or get recovered to a garage. As it turns out the cable hadn't snapped but had jumped out of its bracket at the engine end of the cable (circled in red here:)

I suspect that the locknut(s) had slowly vibrated loose over time and then when I pulled in the clutch lever it jumped out of the bracket and left me clutchless!

So, chaps and chappesses, it is well worth an occasional check to make sure that yours is nipped up!
