Digital gauge cluster

Alright gents, a few questions about doing the conversion. Have any of you done this before and how was it? The gauges I'm looking at have a fuel gauge (which would be nice) and digital speedo. Going from cable to digital they include a sensor, which to my understanding reads a magnet on the rim. Is that reliable or does the magnet sling off? And what would anyone suggest about a fuel sensor since I don't believe the seca has one. Any input is greatly appreciated.
