I found this while looking for something else. 2009 IIHS Motorcycle Crash Data.

http://www.iihs.org/research/fatality_f ... ycles.html

Some things I found interesting:

1. 56% of fatalities were wearing helmets
2. Riders less than 29 years of age and over 50 years of age were more likely to be killed in a crash.
3. 90% of motorcyclists killed in 2009 were men.
4. Fatalities peaked during July-August and were lowest in January-February
5. Accidents were more likely to occur after 6 PM on weekends
6. ONLY 13% of accidents occurred on Interstate Highways
7. 30% of riders killed in multi-vehicle collisions had a blood-alcohol level of >0.08 and 42% in single-vehicle accidents.
8. Sport Touring and Dirt-Road motorcycles were much less likely to be involved in an accident than Sport Bikes and Super Sports.
9. Nearly HALF of the fatalities were single-vehicle, meaning that the rider crashed his/her bike into something or rode off the road.
