Passenger peg assembly?

Hey guys just wanted to ask if anyone knew how exactly the passenger rear pegs stay "locked" in the up postion? My left side peg stays up know problem but my right side rear peg keeps falling down. It kinda looks like it has a little ball bearing in there that detents it into place, but is there a spring behind that ball? The problem peg doesn't look like it has anything in there
