newbie help. trans and first start queations

New to bikes. I got a xj600s today and its sat for about 2 yrs. I didn't try starting it yet. If I roll it in gear holding the clutch its like the clutch drags and it very hard to push. If its out of gear it rolls fine. Clutch lever on trans moves fine. Could the clutch pack just be sticking from setting? I know to drain the gas and change oil. Anything else I should do before i try to fire it up?
