Well, I have a new tank (inside was RUSSSTYYY, metal rescue cleaned it 90%) because my old tank was dented and beat up. Filled up at the pump this afternoon, and took off, got waved down and told my bike was leaking, correction, it was DUMPING absolutely spewing gas out of a hose from the bottom of the bike. Pulled over and examined. There are two drain bits from the bottom of the tank, one pouring, one dry, I connected the two, and rode home without losing another drop. Compared this with my old tank when I got home, the old tank only had one drain. Hmmm
I can only assume that the tube inside the tank, for one of the drains, rusted through, or broke.
What should I do here? I'm thinking of just plugging the one that drains, and forgetting about it, but now I ponder, what is the difference? This was the far left drain tube that was leaking, the right side was not, on the red tank. For more clarification, the drain tube closest to the petcock hole was the leaker.
Red tank is new tank, yellow tank is old.
