Hi all,
forgive me for my ignorance regards the xj600 engine as a whole I'm a new-bee to this!
First off I'm a metal fabrication engineer by trade I've made (or part made) a new bike frame and just loved the xj600 engine, it ticked all the right boxes for what I wanted but have come in to a problem which I hope some of you could help with.
As the carburettors lift up from the engine I find I don't have much room for the air box with out hitting the top tube!
what I would like to know is if I made a custom air box (a nice stainless steel one) but thinner which covered all 4 carb inlets but had only 1 out let tube each side (2 outlets in all ) with a nice k and N air filter on each side ( 2 in all) do you think this would effect the performance of the engine as I know the right mix of fuel and air is vital for the carbs?
Sorry for the jumbled description!
Vinny...
