Parts Cleaner for front fork parts, which kind?

Hey what kind of cleaner should i be using to clean the internals on my front forks? Should it be the carb cleaner stuff that is chlorinated or the brake cleaner stuff that is non-chlorinated. I was a little confussed at the parts store looking at them?
