Hey guys,

So here is the deal, the other day i noticed my bike sounded louder and then half way through my ride from work it was extremly loud, it was to hot to check that night but the next morning i inspected it and noticed not one but both bolts that hold on each exhaust pipe had come clean off, they both came off the same one. so needless to say i need to fix this, i tried extracting the bolts to no avail so i am going to try and weld some new ones on. my main question is what precautions do i need to take for this.

I have taken off the gas tank and removed the battery and i will probably take off anything connected to the ignition and lighting just to be safe.
i know i will want to ground it close to the repair site.

is there anything you can recommend to me as far as doing this, anything else i should do? i have not welded on the actual bike before usually take parts off but cannot for this.

I have a small welder but i feel it can do the trick, it is a 90AMP Flux Core welder using .030 wire.

I know i can count on your guys for help so thanks in advance.
