Occasionally when I am out riding, I have some issues shifting between 1 and 2. Sometimes when I kick down to 1 or shift up to 2nd, I can feel the gears in the trans and it doesn't want to engage the gear. I never experience this in other gears, just between first and second. Oil is fresh and at the right level. To me, it's almost like the clutch isn't fully disengaging. The cable is adjusted correctly though as far as I can tell.
I most often run into this when I shift down to 1st approaching a red light. But before I come to a stop, the light turns green. Clutch still depressed, I shift back to 2nd, and sometimes I have to try and shift a second time because the first time I can feel the gears grind and it doesn't want to engage.
Maybe driver error? Maybe a clutch issue?
Motorcycles don't use synchros correct?
