The XJRider.com How-to Challenge:
XJRider.com needs your help. We are missing some basic content in the how-to section for some routine maintenance and repair items. To provide some motivation for members to help create that content, I propose a contest; and any good contest deserves some good prizes. Up for grabs are two $100 USD gift cards to Motorcycle Superstore. Use them to help fund gear purchase, buy parts or try some new oil.

[/center]We need How-to's for the following items:
- 1. Valve adjustment procedure (full procedure with measurement, shim removal, shim replacement and shim sizing)
2. Fork oil change
3. Fork seal replacement
4. Cam chain tensioner adjustment
5. Headset bearing lubrication and adjustment
6. Swingarm bearing lubrication
7. Front brake pad replacement
8. Rear brake pad replacement
9. Brake fluid flush
10.Brake bleeding procedure
11.Rear shock replacement
12.Change spark plugs (including type, gapping, anti-seize and torque procedures)
13.Replacing the air filter
14.Replacing the fuel filter
15.Performing a pre-riding-season inspection (full inspection)
- If you wish to participate, pick a How-to topic and "dibs" it by posting a reply to this message saying you are working on it.
- Perform the task, take many pictures and then generate a write-up similar to the Chain Clean and Adjustment How-To.
- Upload photos to the site's gallery and post your final how-to for that topic in the appropriate forum. Post a link to it here. Note: Photos must be uploaded to the site's gallery for the how-to to qualify.
- When several how-to's have been created, we will vote on the two best ones and those authors will receive the gift card in the mail.
- How-to's must be written and uploaded by 5/1/2016 to be considered.
- XJRider.com members will vote on the best how-to.
- Voting for the gift-cards will be held between 5/1/2016 and 5/5/2016.
- The two best how-to's will receive a $100 gift card to Motorcycle-Superstore
- The winner will be notified by PM and their gift card will be mailed out by 5/8/16.
- One XJRider member may write many how-to's and may win both cards.
